Volbeat Is Working On Fourth Song For New Studio Album

Great news! Volbeat has started writing songs for their ninth studio album! The new album is the follow-up to ’21’s “Servant Of The Mind” and you should be able to get your hands on it in 2025.

Over the weekend, Volbeat’s Michael Poulsen (vocals, guitar), Jon Larsen (drums) and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) shared the above video where Michael said, “We’re together again in the Volbeat rehearsal room, working on our fourth new song.”

The caption said, “We’ve been busy writing new music….new album in 2025? #VOLBEAT2025”.

You may remember that last October, their singer had throat surgery and talked to Paltrocast about the procedure, “It’s an operation I’ve been through before. This one is just a little bit bigger and it’s gonna take some time to get back in vocal shape. So, Volbeat is not playing [in 2024]. I’ll use a lot of time to get my voice back after the operation. But at the same time, I will actually be writing a new Volbeat album. So hopefully later [in 2024], I can put down the vocals for the next Volbeat album. But in the meantime, I will go out and play shows with [my death metal side project] ASINHELL.”

Meanwhile, Volbeat parted ways with longtime guitarist Rob Caggiano in June ’23 and toured with Flemming C. Lund of the Danish extreme metal outfit The Arcane Order, in his stead. They played their first show with Lund on June 10, 2023 at the Rockfest festival in Hyvinkää, Finland.

Caggiano played on Volbeat’s last four studio albums.

Not sure if Lund is participating in the new album’s recording. Time will tell.
