I was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1973. Within a year, we moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. I’ve since lived in B.C. all my life. I am the youngest of 2 boys. My immediate family lives in B.C. and other parts of the world.

I grew up in Surrey ‘til grade 3, back when the Vancouver Canucks still played at The Coliseum and you didn’t need to win the lottery in order to buy a house. Moved from Surrey to Kitimat, for a couple years, then over to Terrace, then to Summerland from Grade 9 – 21 years old. It was in the Okanagan that I decided to pursue a career in radio broadcasting, despite being told it wasn’t a good idea (by too many in the industry).

For as long as I can remember, music has driven me. From The Beatles to Metallica, AC/DC to Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin to Foo Fighters, a good song is a good song. And that’s what drove me to become an on-air radio personality. Music.

I took the BCIT Broadcasting Course in 1995/96 (of which I am now faculty). My first on-air radio job was in Smithers at the mighty BVLD. Four months later, I took a job in Prince George. P.G. was home for the better part of 4 years; working 1 year Evenings at The Max FM94 and 3 years Afternoons at Wild Country CJCI. In 2000, Vancouver called. With the exception 9 months in Victoria to do a Morning Show at Extreme 107.3, I was an on air personality at 99.3 The Fox in Vancouver for damn near 15 years.

Over those years in Vancouver, B.C., radio listeners voted my radio show “Best Show” multiple times (The Georgia Straight Awards, Westender Reader’s Choice Awards & Vancouver Province’s Traffie Awards), I hosted several World Album Premieres (including Metallica, Nickelback & Velvet Revolver) and traveled to different parts of the world, including first class to Dublin, Ireland, a couple times to broadcast from the Jameson Distillery on St. Patrick’s Day! I’ve shared stories, drinks and/or smoke with too many to name. Besides, it’d sound like I’m bragging… which it kinda already does.

I married my beautiful, loving & supportive wife Jessica in 2006. We have 2 boys, James and Levi; they are the world to me.

This website… the Toddcast podcast… this venture… is the next chapter of my life.

At heart, I’m a music nerd. And this is my story…
