VIDEO: Porno For Pryos & Billy Corgan Cover Led Zeppelin
A fan posted video of when Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan joined Porno For Pyros on-stage yesterday (July 31) at this year’s Lollapalooza! Together they played a cover of Led Zeppelin’s version of “When The Levee Breaks”, a blues number from 1929 (originally recorded by Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie).
The performance was towards the end of Pyros’ set and is the second performance for the band in recent months (they also played a concert at the Belasco in Los Angeles, California last month). Two shows in more than a quarter century!
You may remember that Porno For Pyros also reunited for a performance at the Lolla2020 livestream. Farrell, Perkins, DiStefeno and Mike Watt played acoustic backyard versions of the 1993 hit “Pets” and “Kimberly Austin”.
Prior to the Lolla2020 livestream, the band’s last performance was at singer Farrell’s 50th-birthday party in 2009.
Does this mean Porno For Pyros is back? New music maybe? A tour? Time will tell.
