The Killers Announce ‘Rebel Diamonds’ Greatest Hits Featuring new song ‘Spirit’

November 7, 2023

Well, you could’ve guessed this was coming, right? It’s time. If you missed it, The Killers have announced their Best-Of compilation album, ‘Rebel Diamonds’.

The forthcoming album (with a cool cover) will grab songs from their two-decade career, including the big ones like ‘Mr. Brightside’, ‘When You Were Young’ and ‘Human’.

And yes, you’ll hear one new song on the album called ‘Spirit’. You’ll can pre-order ‘Rebel Diamonds’ here before it’s released on December 8.

The band has lots of material to create this Best-Of compilation, to their debut, ‘Hot Fuss’ (2004), ‘Sam’s Town’ (2006), ‘Day and Age’ (2008), ‘Battle Born’ (2012), ‘Don’t Waste Your Wishes’ (2016), ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ (2017), ‘Imploding The Mirage’ (2020) and their newest, ‘Pressure Machine’ (2021).

Singer Brandon Flowers is heard saying in the trailer (above), “See it’s been said that what’s remembered lives, and we’ve racked up stadiums full of memories the past twenty years, enough to fill lifetimes. Twenty songs for twenty years – Rebel Diamonds.”

‘Rebel Diamonds’ tracklisting:

You may remember that Flowers apparently scrapped an album’s worth of new music, saying, “Halfway through recording I realised, ‘I can’t do this. This isn’t the kind of record… I think this will be the… I don’t think you’ll see us making this type of music any more.”

He added: “This is the crisis I’m in. The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the seats, but I’m more fulfilled making music like [2021 album] ‘Pressure Machine’.

So, we wait for a new studio album. ‘Til then, a Best-Of and one new song will have to do.
