The 1975’s Matty Healy Teases Album, Shares Unreleased Demos

January 2, 2024

The 1975‘s Matt Healy took to his X account to tease the possibility of a new ’75 album or perhaps a solo LP. Check it out, he even shared some unreleased demos!

If you’ve kept up, you know that The 1975 recently wrapped up the North American leg of their ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour and Healy took the break to spend time with family and friends in Manchester for the holidays.

Healy recently shared a meme of Sue Sylvester from Glee (played by Jane Lynch), saying, “I am going to create an album that is so good” and “I’m feelin it”.

He then shared a screen recording of what seems to be unreleased demos and ideas for potential tracks that are stored in his phone. Some of the demos were named “ringbox1”, “this love 140bpm”, “3011” and more!

Fans have speculated that the demo “Victim 5.18” is in reference to the date May 18, 2023, when a Taylor Swift fan wrote an open letter to Swift about their concerns over Healy and Swift’s speculated romantic relationship.

Not sure if the demos Healy shared are for a potential new 1975 album, or a solo record. Regardless, how fun is it when bands/artists share demos like this?! So cool!
