Slash: Guns N’ Roses Is “Trying” To Make A New Album

May 21, 2024

Slash recently spoke to the Daily Star and said that Guns N’ Roses is “trying” to make a new album, and that he’s “working with them in that capacity”.

Yes, you read that right.

G N’ R is working on new album! Let’s just hope they can create something a lil’ quicker than ‘Chinese Democracy’.

They haven’t released anything since that album (2008), an album that Slash isn’t on. Since Slash re-joined the band, they have released new music (‘Absurd’, Hard Skool’, ‘Precious’ and ‘The General’ but not a full-length LP.

When asked why he didn’t invite Axl to be a guest on his solo album, Slash told the Daily Star, “Guns N’ Roses are trying to make their own record. And I’m working with them in that capacity, but this (solo album) didn’t involve anyone else. It was my own side thing, so I wasn’t dragging my own guys in.”

Meanwhile, if you missed it, Slash put out a Blues solo album last week (May 17) called ‘Orgy Of The Damned’. The lead-single is above, a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s ‘Killing Floor’, featuring AC/DC singer Brian Johnson and Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler on harmonica!

The album is packed with great guest appearances; Iggy Pop, Chris Stapleton, Demi Lovato, Dorothy, Paul Rodgers, Chris Robinson, Tash Neal, Beth Hart, Gary Clark Jr. and Billy Gibbons.

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Co-Conspirators just wrapped up a big tour. On the final, April 29 in Paris, France, they were joined by Wolfgang Van Halen for a cover of AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’. Wolfgang’s band, Mammoth WVH, was opening the shows.

Bottom line, according to Slash, you can expect to hear new Guns N’ Roses music!
