Body Count Releases ‘Psychopath’ From Forthcoming ‘Merciless’ Album

May 21, 2024

You haven’t heard a new Body Count single since their “Best Metal Performance” Grammy winner, 2020’s ‘Bum-Rush’. Well, hip-hop icon, actor and director Ice-T & crew are back with “Psychopath”!

If you recognize the singer – it’s Fit For An Autopsy vocalist Joe Badolato.

Longtime band collaborator Will Putney (Knocked Loose, The Ghost Inside) produced the track and is taken from Body Count’s upcoming album, “Merciless”, the follow-up to 2020’s “Carnivore” LP (they released it a week before COVID paused the planet).

As to how “Psychopath” came together, Ice-T told Consequence: “It started with the music. It sounds like what it’s like to be in a psychopath’s head. The track was psychotic, and it needed me to sing about something crazy.”

Meanwhile, Body Count’s European “Merciless” Tour starts June 5 at Mystic festival in Poland and has the band playing in more than a dozen countries. They’re back in North America to play at the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky and the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, California.

Their current line-up includes original members Ice-T, Ernie C. and Sean E. Sean, joined by bassist Vincent Price, drummer Will “Ill Will” Dorsey, Juan “Juan Of The Dead” Garcia and backing vocalist Little Ice.

Which do you prefer, Ice-T solo or his work with Body Count?
