Yungblud on his upcoming album: “I have never felt more clear”

If you’re not a fan of / don’t know Yungblud yet, lemme quickly get you up to speed.

Britpop. Catchy as heck. He’s been around since 2018. In 2022, he went to #1 on the UK Album Charts, #45 on the Billboard 200 and #7 on US Top Rock Albums chart! Impressive.

Yungblud has a new album coming soon – and says he’s “never felt more clear or been more proud to stand by anything” he’s made.

Watch the video for ‘Lowlife’ and you’ll get a good vibe of what he’s like. I think this one is pretty representational of his body of work.

Anyway, last Friday (March 14), Yungblud said he was releasing a nine-minute single titled ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’ this week. He’s been teasing a ‘new era’ recently – so perhaps his new album is a new direction?

Yungblud posted to Instagram, “4 years in the making and it all begins Tuesday. I’m happy, healthy, nervous, terrified all at the same time, but I have never felt more clear or been more proud to stand by anything I have ever made. we did exactly what we set out to do. this album is an adventure and I want you to close your eyes and get lost in all nine minutes and six seconds of its opening.”

Back in December, Yungblud (real name Dominic Harrison) spoke to NME and said he had a “double album” on the way, “The new album centres around the idea of self-love and self-reclamation that allows people to feel seen, and emit this light. You can be seen for who you truly are, no matter where you’re from or what you believe… That’s what I needed to write an album about.”

In other news, Bludfest (the dude has HIS OWN FESTIVAL) is happening again this summer. BANDS: Yungblud, Chase Atlantic, Denzel Curry, Blackbear, Rachel Chinouriri and Peach PRC. Details to come.

Looking forward to hearing Yungblud’s new album. He’s been on my radar for a few years now – and I think you’d dig his stuff, too.
