Freaky Friday is getting Freakier. Yes, they’ve released the trailer for the sequel, Freakier Friday.
You’ll see the new movie in theatre on August 8 and yes, 2003’s stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are back as Anna and Tess Coleman, a mother and daughter whose bodies were swapped thanks to a fortune cookie.
This time, Anna and Tess are part of a four-way body swap that also includes Anna’s teenage daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter, played by Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons, respectively.
So, let’s see what people were saying online…
So excited to see Lindsay Lohan back on the big screen! Freaky Friday is one the Disney comedy gems of the 2000s that I adore & Jamie Lee Curtis is comedy gold in this role. Good to see a mid budget movie get a big summer release! I’ll be there! #FreakierFriday https://t.co/q5l67HlF9E pic.twitter.com/mKN2stdZLk

You’ve known about the new movie since last March – it’s directed by Nisha Ganatra (Late Night and The High Note and episodes of Sex And The City).
Last summer, Lohan and Curtis said you’d hear new music from Pink Slip, the band that Lohan’s character fronts in the 2003 movie. “Pink Slip is back, let’s put it that way,” Curtis said, with Lohan adding that fans can expect to see even more of the band in the film.
Curtis added, “Let me just say this. There’s a song in this new movie that is going to the…” before Lohan finished her sentence, explaining: “It tugs on your heartstrings.”
What do you think – a sequel to a 2003 movie? Is Hollywood running out of ideas, or am I just getting old?
Get off my lawn.
