In case you missed it, U2‘s Bono and The Edge are the latest massive stars to perform for NPR‘s Tiny Desk concert series!
The duo played acoustic versions of ‘Beautiful Day’, ‘In A Little While’, ‘Stuck In A Moment You Can’t Get Out Of’ and ‘Walk On’. And how cool is this? The Duke Ellington School of the Arts choir accompanied the band!
Getting into ‘In A Little While’, Bono said, “This song’s actually a song about friendship sort of. Edge and myself were discussing earlier how we’ve gotten a little maybe more intolerant as we’ve gotten older of our friends. I’ve made the mistake of putting my friends into categories. You should never do this. The really difficult ones, you have to be careful what you say around them kind of.”
Meanwhile, did you see U2 on BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room earlier this week? Watch orchestral versions of ‘Vertigo’, ‘One’ and their cover of ABBA‘s ‘S.O.S’ below!
Pretty cool that big bands like U2 do special performances like this, hey? Which bands would you like to see do something with NPR’s Tiny Desk series?
