Okay, more details are (kind of) emerging about the upcoming Beatles biopic (directed by Sam Mendes). Word is, Joseph Quinn (Gladiator 2, Stranger Things) is going to play George Harrison.
This comes in the footsteps of a report where Gladitor 2 director Ridley Scott said that Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney in the Beatles biopic, and that Ringo Starr seemed to confirm that Barry Keoghan is playing the drummer.
And remember, this past June, it was said that Mendes had cast two actors, along with Harris Dickinson as John Lennon and Charlie Rowe as George Harrison. So, wait. If they’ve already cast Harrison, what’s the deal with Quinn?
Dickinson previously responded to the casting rumours by saying that “it would be amazing to do that”.
Dickinson continued: “I think the idea of Sam teaming up to do something like that would be incredibly exciting. Obviously, John Lennon is a very complex role, a pretty formidable force to try to do. It would be cool.”
Mendes (1917, Spectre and Skyfall) has has previously said he’ll be working on four Beatles movies until ‘some time in the middle of 2028’. Rumour has it the first film will start shooting in London in July 2025!
What do you think about the choice of these actors rumoured to be playing The Fab Four in the Beatles biopic?
