Did you hear about this yet? The Strokes might be gearing up again. It’s not official, but sure seems like it.

It started with a post. A rough, ‘90s-style notepad graphic. A link that leads to a stripped-down signup page, built around a strange image: four horses dragging a cassette through the desert. Analog chaos in a digital world.
You can drop their number. The message back is simple. “We’ll be in touch.” Another tease hints they’ll “try to share something soon.”
No announcement. No release date. Nothing.
Online, the speculation kicked in immediately. Is it a single? A rollout? Something tied to their return to the stage?
Julian Casablancas and the band are about to play San Francisco before hitting Coachella 2026, along with stops at Outside Lands, Just Like Heaven, and Japan’s Summer Sonic. Seems the big machine is starting to move again.
Producer Rick Rubin confirmed sessions with the band back in 2022. “It was incredible… they didn’t want to leave.” Since then, updates have been vague but consistent: ideas started, songs in progress, nothing rushed.
Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. put it plainly: “I don’t think we’ve written our best songs yet.”
IF something new from The Strokes is coming, it’s not just another release. It’s a reset.
