Imagine you walk into a record shop, see a new Rolling Stones album on the shelf, and Spider-Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, or Wolverine is staring back at you. That’s exactly what the band is offering collectors as they count down to the release of their next studio album! Wait. What?
The Rolling Stones have teamed up with Marvel for a special series of limited-edition vinyl variants tied to their upcoming album Foreign Tongues, due out July 10 through Polydor/Universal Music.
The album marks the band’s 25th studio release and features appearances from some impressive guests, including Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, Steve Winwood, and late Stones drummer Charlie Watts. It also includes the previously released singles “Rough And Twisted” and “In The Stars,” along with a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good.”
With less than a month remaining before release day, the band has unveiled five exclusive Marvel-inspired album covers that replace the original artwork with designs created specifically for the project by Marvel illustrators.
One cover features Hulk carrying a truck adorned with the Rolling Stones’ iconic lips logo. Another shows Spider-Man weaving the famous emblem from his webs. Captain America crashes through a wall marked with the design, while Thor summons lightning that forms the logo around him. The fifth variant spotlights Wolverine standing in front of the legendary image.
Each version is being released as a limited collector’s edition and is available for pre-order now.
The excitement around Foreign Tongues has continued to build in recent weeks. Last month, the full track listing appeared on streaming platforms, with song titles presented in actual foreign languages. The band has also shared details about how Robert Smith of The Cure became involved with the project.
While new music is arriving soon, fans hoping for a tour will have to remain patient.
Late in 2025, the Stones confirmed that plans for a UK and European stadium tour in 2026 had been scrapped after Keith Richards was unable to commit to the run. Since then, Richards has suggested a return to the road could happen in 2027, while Mick Jagger has said he “can’t wait” to get back out performing with the band.
Jagger recently gave fans an unexpected taste of live music when he joined students for an impromptu performance at a pub in Oxford.
Do you think these Marvel-inspired editions become some of the most sought-after Rolling Stones collectibles in recent memory?
