Have you heard of The Paper yet? It’s a new TV spin-off to the US version of The Office and they’ve set September 5 as the release date on Peacock in the US.

Here’s the premise: The show is set in a dying Midwestern US newspaper workplace, and stars Domhnall Gleeson as the new employee looking to revive the title. Sabrina Impacciatore is the paper’s managing editor. Other cast members include Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key.
They plan on dropping four episodes on September 5, followed by two new episodes every Thursday until September 25. Sky will release in the UK.
The official synopsis reads: “The documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it”.
In February, The Office US actor Oscar Nuńez confirmed he was returning as his character to this spin-off series. So far, no other The Office characters are part of the series.
Steve Carell says he definitely won’t be showing up in the upcoming reboot of #TheOffice, but he thinks the show will be great pic.twitter.com/2QVdNVuM88

The Office’s star, Steve Carell told The Hollywood Reporter: “I will be watching but I will not be showing up. It’s just a new thing and there’s really no reason for my character to show up in something like that”.
Carrell added, “I’m excited about it, it sounds like a great conceit. I love the idea — I guess it’s set in a failing newspaper company, and I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who is one of the leads; I did (2022 series) The Patient with him and he’s an excellent actor and a super nice guy so I think it’ll be great”.
Are you excited about this The Office spin-off series? Or are you apprehensive?
