Lana Del Rey visits 107.7 The End in Seattle

The Name’s Rey. Lana Del Rey.

Lana Del Rey fans are convinced she’s finally doing a 007 song. This time, as the voice of the video game, First Light.

The upcoming James Bond video game, 007: First Light, is in development at IO Interactive, the people behind Hitman. Earlier this year, they revealed a new cast of agents and allies: Patrick Gibson as Bond, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, and Kiera Lester as Miss Moneypenny. They are joined by Noemie Nakia’s Miss Roth and Lennie James’ John Greenway, Bond’s mentor.

Now the internet’s buzzing after fans discovered Lana had registered a new song called “First Light” with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Coincidence? Doubt it.

Fans are in speculation mode:

“Praying it’s for the new Bond game. If Lana’s doing the theme, I’m buying it day one.”
“She’s the perfect Bond voice — haunting, cinematic, timeless.”
“After being snubbed with ‘24’, this would be redemption.”

007: First Light arrives March 27, 2026, across Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

This isn’t Lana’s first brush with Bond. She once confirmed she’d written a theme for Spectre (2015), before producers chose Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall.” She laughed it off in a BBC interview:

“One day maybe, probably not. But I’ll keep doing my little Nancy Sinatra thing and pretend it’s the title track.”

Now, nearly a decade later, seems it’s happening.

While working on her next album, the country-infused Stone, due January 2026, Del Rey’s rumoured Bond debut feels like perfect timing.

Lana Del Rey seems perfect for a James Bond song. Who else would you like see given the chance?
