I once saw The Hives at a small club in Toronto (around 2001) and they were magnificent. Truly. And, they’re back at it! You can expect full-blown parties across the UK to celebrate their new album, The Hives Forever Forever The Hives. Small venues. Big energy.
The Swedish rockers just announced a run of intimate shows starting August 29 in Nottingham. Think sweaty rooms, crowd chants, and singer Pelle Almqvist yelling in your face. Liverpool and Leeds follow, then a special Rough Trade collab show in London on September 2, before wrapping up in Brighton the next night.
The tour is in support of their seventh album, out August 29 (pre-order the album here). It’s the follow-up to 2023’s The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons – their first album in over a decade. They teased the new album during a livestream from Mexico City, calling it “so full of energy, joy, anger and life that you will be questioning reality.”
Pelle told NME this might be his “favourite” The Hives record ever, and that “after 30 years, we’re at the peak of our powers.”

After these intimate UK shows, The Hives do a full-on UK/EU tour starting in October,. Yard Act is opening for the whole tour.
