The Darkness Announce Documentary ‘Welcome To The Darkness’

September 29, 2023

The Darkness teamed up with Lightbulb Film Distribution to release a feature-length documentary! It’s coming to theatres on November 9 for one night only, plus encores. You’ll be able to pick it up as a digital download and Blu-ray as of December 4.

You’ll likely best know The Darkness from their ’03 smash single “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” and from their multi-platinum debut album “Permission To Land”.

Then, in ’06, they fell of the radar.

Gone.

In 2015, director and photographer Simon Emmett (“Underhill”) followed the band on their comeback from playing small pub gigs to packing arenas.

In the film, you’ll have unprecedented access to unseen archive footage and interviews filmed over six years. At the heart, it’s about the band and the demons that tore them apart.

The band is also releasing an expanded “Permission To Land” deluxe album on October 6. It’s a five-LP package, a four-CD+DVD package, a double-CD package.

Meanwhile, The Darkness has a sold-out tour of the U.K. in December, part of the “Permission To Land” anniversary world tour which starts next week in the U.S.

What’s your favourite band documentary?
