The Breeders’ Kim Deal Announces Debut Solo Album, Releases Single ‘Crystal Breath’
The Breeders‘ Kim Deal is going to release a solo album, ‘Nobody Loves You More’ and has already shared the second single, ‘Crystal Breath’.
You’ll be able to get your hands on ‘Nobody Loves You More’ as of November 22. It’s her first full-length release under her own name.
In ‘Crystal Breath’, Deal sings, “My crystal breath shatters in you / The freak in my reflection sparkles into view / Let’s start a new life.”
This solo album has been in the works for years – back in ’23, Deal put out a five-part, ten-song seven-ich vinyl series with some of those songs now on this debut solo album.
The album was written and produced by Deal and the late great Steve Albini, who engineered the LP at Electrical Audio – his studio in Chicago.
‘Nobody Loves You More’ tracklist:
1. ‘Nobody Loves You More’
2. ‘Coast’
3. ‘Crystal Breath’
4. ‘Are You Mine?’
5. ‘Disobedience’
6. ‘Wish I Was’
7. ‘Big Ben Beat’
8. ‘Bats In The Afternoon Sky’
9. ‘Summerland’
10. ‘Come Running’
11. ‘A Good Time Pushed’
Of course, Deal is known for her time in The Pixies. She was with them from the start, in 1986. Despite splitting in 1993, the Pixies reformed in 2004 and toured their 1989 album ‘Doolittle’ between 2009 and 2011 with Deal. In 2013, Deal left the band.
Cool to see Kim Deal putting out solo material. Will it do as well as The Pixies or The Breeders? Only time will tell.
