‘Bout time. The Beatles movies have finally found their Fab Four: John, Paul, George and Ringo.
You found out who was playing who at the end of Sony’s CinemaCon presentation on Monday night (April 1), when director Sam Mendes took the stage and dropped the bomb.
Mendes confirmed that The Beatles will be played by Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison).
The movie franchise is being called The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, and all four movies arrive in April 2028.
Additionally, Mendes said that filming all four films will take over a year, but said a April 2028 launch is d0-able. Apparently Mendes was tossing around the idea of doing a mini-series but decided that “the story was too huge to fit into a single movie.” Each of the four movies will be told from the perspective of one of the four Beatles. It’s also the first-ever movie to be granted music rights to the Beatles’ discography.
Damn. This is gonna be so cool to see!
Well? What do you think of the casting? Did they nail it? Was there someone they overlooked?
