Did you hear?! Quentin Tarantino recently said he’s sitting on a full-blown Kill Bill prequel concept!
The original two-volume saga (2003–04) turned Uma Thurman’s The Bride into a pop-culture legend, slicing her way through the five traitors who tore her life apart. A fresh, full edit — Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair — comes out this Friday, giving the entire blood-soaked odyssey a proper theatrical run!
Tarantino and Thurman also reunited through Fortnite for Yuki’s Revenge, a short animated with Unreal Engine that tells a “lost chapter” from the original universe. At its premiere at the Vista Theater in Los Angeles, Tarantino hit the stage for a Q&A and that’s where the prequel talk surfaced.
When asked if more Kill Bill stories were on the horizon, he didn’t shut the door. “We’ll see. I’ve got other things to do… I have a whole Kill Bill idea in my mind but I was wiped out,” he said. Then he dropped the tease: a Bill origin story exploring the three men who shaped him: Esteban Vihaio, Pai Mei, and Hattori Hanzo. “Will I live long enough to do that? That remains to be seen.”
Thurman called the new short “really moving”, although fans weren’t as forgiving. Some blasted the film for censoring the Pussy Wagon and tossing Fortnite’s Peely into the mix.
Fair enough, right?
And in classic Tarantino form, Quentin didn’t leave without stirring another pot… recently slamming Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins for “ripping off” Battle Royale. As he put it on the Bret Easton Ellis Podcast: “They just ripped off the fucking book.”
Crazy to think that we may get another Kill Bill movie. Tarantino is the master. Period.
