Talking Heads‘ Stop Making Sense documentary is coming back to theatres 39 years after its release! Watch the fun teaser/promo video below!
The doc captured the band’s popularity in 1983. Stop Making Sense was shot in Hollywood at the Pantages Theatre, when the band was touring their fifth album, ‘Speaking in Tongues’.
The promo clip you see in the above tweet has singer David Byrne collecting his suit from a dry cleaners, telling the owner: “It’s been here a while.”
So far there’s no release date to theatres, but we do know there will be a new deluxe edition of its soundtrack (due out Aug 18). You can pre-order the soundtrack here.
Meanwhile, David Byrne performed at the 2023 Oscars with the infamous hot dog fingers from this year’s Oscar-sweeping film, Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Love that older concerts are being re-released. Which band would you like to see do the same thing?
