Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley ‘Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven And Hell’ Memoir Coming Soon

March 21, 2024

Sum 41 fans will get a glimpse into singer Deryck Whibley’s life with the release of his memoir, “Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven And Hell”, on October 8!

As you’d expect, the book will showcase Whibley’s rise from a Canadian punk to international star. Whibley’s always loved music. He was raised by his mom and moved often. Being the new kid, Deryck would start fights and gravitated to those who liked to cause a ruckus and wanted to hear loud music.

Thus, Sum 41 was born.

“Walking Disaster” is Whibley’s story AND the band’s story. You’ll go backstage, into the recording booth, and read about the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Deryck’s seen it all – MTV Video Music Awards wins, Grammy nominations, high-profile relationships and friendships, paparazzi, and serious health issues (September 2023: Whibley was discharged from a hospital after being treated for pneumonia).

Whibley’s band, Sum 41, has sold over 15 million records sold worldwide, won two Juno Awards (seven nominations), won a Kerrang! Award in 2002 and multiple Alternative Press Music Awards over the years.

No doubt he’s lived a life! Stoked to get my hands on this n’ give it a read.

What’s been your favourite rock read? Any autobiographies you can suggest?
