Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators have wrapped up recording their new studio album. But you won’t be hearing it until 2027.

On August 28, Slash posted the above new on Instagram, posting a photo with bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz, writing:
“Recording for #SMKC record number 5 is done today. Album title [to be confirmed]. This has been a super cool session all around. & we all agree it’s one of, if not the best one yet. Unfortunately you’ll have to wait till 2027 to weigh in… But it will be worth the wait. Full blown world tour to follow!”
Slash has been busy. Between GNR tours, a blues record (“Orgy Of The Damned”), and even launching his own festival this past summer, how does he find the time?!
In an interview with Different Stages Radio, Fitz explained how the sessions came together:
“Slash has the greatest work ethic of any musician I’ve ever worked with. We toured together in 2024, then he did a blues record and tour. As soon as that was done, we got right into the studio in L.A. We did that for a month, then we went out to Florida and recorded most of the bed tracks.”
Fitz added that Myles Kennedy still has to get in and finish the vocals, but that’s just the reality of everyone being in multiple projects:
“This is the new normal. Everybody’s in so many different bands. And Slash is, obviously, in a little band called Guns N’ Roses…”
Myles, for his part, already has the lyrics and melodies locked in. “I just need to get in to the studio and knock it out,” he told Heavy Consequence. As for the vibe? “It’s still riff-based rock ’n’ roll with a heavy dose of the blues element that Slash brings, like only he does. It’s some really great stuff.”
So yeah, the waiting game is on. SMKC5 is in the can, and by all accounts it’s shaping up to be their strongest yet. But you won’t hear it until 2027.
