Okay, before you rip into me for writing about a Grease Musical, let me tell you I saw a Grease Musical here in Vancouver about 8 years ago and it was stellar. So for Secret Cinema to announce they’re doing a summer 2025 production, it caught my attention.

Some background for you – Secret Cinema has been around since 2007 and are known for putting on immersive and surprise screenings of films that include interactive elements and performances from live actors.
Cool, right?
In the past they’ve done shows/screenings for Back To The Future and replicated the movie’s Hill Valley set.
A press release for the event says, “Secret Cinema is delighted to announce its return to London with a brand-new production for 2025 presented with TodayTix. GREASE: The Immersive Movie Musical will play in Battersea Park from Friday 1 August – Sunday 7 September 2025 at Evolution London.
Secret Cinema’s new two-and-a-half-hour production brings the beloved classic Paramount Pictures film to life, featuring a cast of 30 performing amidst giant multi-screen platforms. Every corner of the venue will transform into an immersive and unforgettable cinematic theatrical experience”.
In the release, the production’s director Matt Costain said: “In this new production of Grease, you’ll live the film from start to finish, fully absorbed in its heart. With the movie playing all around you and performances at every turn, you’ll really become part of the action”.
Grease. The Musical. Interactive. Immersive. Interesting, right? Sounds like something worth checking out – assuming it hits your city.
