Rise Against Releases Music Video For ‘Ricochet’ Title Track

If you’re counting at home, it’s been four years since Rise Against put out a new album. As of this Friday, August 15, the wait is over with the release of Ricochet! And they just released the title track!

Singer Tim McIlrath says the album’s message is simple: we’re all connected. “Everything you do will affect somebody. What we do, good or bad, creates one big ricochet effect. We rely on each other, whether we like it or not. We’re connected to other countries and other economies; we’re connected to undocumented immigrants. We’re connected to every decision that our leaders make. We are not as isolated as we think.”

Produced by Grammy-winner Catherine Marks (boygenius, Foals, St. Vincent) and mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, QOTSA, The Killers), Ricochet is 12 tracks with song topics ranging from apocalyptic collapse (“Black Crown”) to blind allegiance (“Soldier”), mental health (“Sink Like A Stone”), and the circus of the algorithm (“State of Emergency”).

01. Nod

Rise Against already previewed “I Want It All,” “Prizefighter,” and “Nod,” with Rolling Stone calling the track “a particularly potent rallying cry for the moment.”

The band, McIlrath, Joe Principe, Zach Blair, Brandon Barnes, have been all over the map this year: Vans Warped Tour, LA’s Kia Forum, headlining festivals, three continents of touring. Next up? A massive U.S. arena run this fall.

Friday can’t come fast enough! A new Rise Against album is just what the doctor ordered!
