Quentin Tarantino may be heading to the stage next.

Did you hear about this? Reports say the filmmaker is preparing his first-ever play, with plans to launch it in London’s West End in early 2027.

The Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs director first revealed the project in early 2025, saying he was writing a play that would likely be the next thing he produces. New reports suggest the production will be an “old-fashioned British farce,” inspired by Noises Off by Michael Frayn, with Tarantino also expected to direct.

Tarantino’s last film was 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, his ninth as a director. He has long said he plans to retire from filmmaking after his tenth movie.

In a previous interview, he hinted the new play could become that final film if it’s successful. “If it’s a smash hit? It might be my last movie,” he said.

A follow-up to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is also on the way, though Tarantino won’t be directing. David Fincher will helm the Netflix project The Adventures of Cliff Booth, based on a script by Tarantino and starring Brad Pitt returning as stuntman Cliff Booth.

Meanwhile, Tarantino’s previously rumoured final film, The Movie Critic, was shelved after script changes and production delays.

Tarantino appears to be making the move to the stage. I’m not surprised. You?
