Ozzy’s Last Word: Paramount Plus Drops No Escape From Now Trailer

They just released a teaser trailer for Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now, Paramount Plus’ upcoming documentary on the Prince of Darkness.

Directed by BAFTA winner Tania Alexander, the film was shot over the last six years and has one of Ozzy’s last on-screen interviews. You’ll also hear from Sharon, his family, Tony Iommi, Zakk Wylde, plus a murderer’s row of rock royalty: James Hetfield, Duff McKagan, Billy Idol, Chad Smith, Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, Robert Trujillo, Steven Tyler…the list goes on!

The doc was never meant to be a swan song. The idea was to chronicle Ozzy’s fight to get back on stage after his 2019 fall and worsening Parkinson’s symptoms. What it became, after his death, is a raw portrait of grit, humour, and sheer willpower.

Of course, it all builds to that emotional “Back To The Beginning” gig in Birmingham, Sabbath’s hometown, on July 5. Ozzy’s final live show. Two weeks before he passed. A night that saw him share the stage with Metallica, Slayer, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, Tool, KoRn, Anthrax, Gojira, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. You can’t script this stuff.

Meanwhile, the BBC has its own Ozzy doc, Coming Home, sitting on the shelf after being mysteriously pulled hours before its August premiere. Still no word on when, or if, it’ll see daylight.

Ozzy’s funeral was held privately on the grounds of his UK mansion. Elton John, members of Metallica, and countless others attended, while thousands lined the streets of Birmingham to say goodbye.

No Escape From Now isn’t just another rock doc. It’s the last word from one of music’s biggest, wildest, most game-changing icons!
