Neil Peart’s Final Book, ‘Silver Surfers’, Due This May

January 15, 2024

Mark it on your calendar! May 7, 2024 is release date for “Silver Surfers”, the final book from late RUSH drummer Neil Peart!

In the book, Peart writes about his beloved classic car collection and opens up about his lifelong passion for cars.

Peart writes about his beloved “Silver Surfers” collection, exquisite and rare cars. He traces his auto obsession back to ’69 and a Lotus Europa. From a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 to a classic 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray, each car in his collection is silver (with the exception of one: a black 1964 Shelby Cobra).

As you’d hope/expect, the book will have a photos taken by Peart and a personal story about each, making friends, and driving these incredible cars. Neil’s final work is a love letter to these cars.

Peart was the drummer and lyricists of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame band RUSH. “The Proffessor” to us fans. Poetry, literature, philosophy, and science drove the bus to his work; “The Spirit Of Radio”, “Free Will” and the self-described autobiographical “Subdivisions” and “Limelight”.

On January 7, 2020, Peart died after a three-and-a-half-year struggle with brain cancer. He is survived by his wife Carrie and daughter Olivia. Forever missed, never forgotten.

What’s your favourite rock read? Recommend some autobiographies. Keith Richards’ ‘Life’ was excellent. That’s my recommendation. I picked up Geddy Lee’s book – but haven’t found the time to read it yet. Maybe I’ll carve out some time this weekend.
