Great news! They found the album. Motörhead is releasing their “lost” 1976 album, ‘The Manticore Tapes’!
After 49 years, Motörhead is releasing songs from their FIRST TIME IN STUDIO SESSIONS!
Sessions with the classic lineup. Lemmy Kilmister, ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke, and Phil Taylor.
The album is called ‘The Manticore Tapes’ and you’ll be able to get your hands on it on June 27. Pre-order it here.
And you’re right. The album title IS taken from Emerson, Lake & Palmer’s legendary Manticore Studio (for the music nerds who got the reference). The album was restored with help from longtime Motörhead collaborator Cameron Webb at Maple Studios in California. Andrew Alekel mastered it at Bolskine House in Los Angeles.

In February, Stoke-on-Trent City Countil confirmed plans to put up a statue of late Motörhead singer Lemmy.
Lemmy was born in Burslem, one of the towns of Stoke-On-Trent in Staffordshire.
Incredible, right? “Lost” Motörhead sounds ’bout right. If you could ‘find’ music from any band, which band would it be?
