Larry David and Barack Obama are working on new sketch series together

Here’s one outta left-field. Who saw this coming? Seinfeld genius Larry David is collaborating with U.S. President Barack Obama and wife Michelle on a six-part series about American history that will air on HBO!

They haven’t named the sketch show yet – but we do know it will star Larry David and some familiar faces from Curb Your Enthusiasm, and some well-known guest stars. The Obamas will serve as executive producers through their company Higher Ground Productions.

So far, there’s no official release date, but you should expect it to air on HBO next year, as the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary.

In a press release, HBO wrote: “President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honour America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion…But then Larry David called”.

Larry David added, “Once Curb ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party. After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper, harvesting organic honey from the wildflowers in my meadow. Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I return to television, hoping to ease the loss of my beloved hive”.

Finally, President Obama joked, “I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David”.

Larry David has been chirpy in regards to current U.S. President Donald Trump. Last year he called Trump a ‘sociopath’. And in April, he wrote the satirical essay ‘My Dinner With Adolf’ for the New Yorks Times.

Interesting, right? What should they call this upcoming HBO series?
