Lana Del Rey took to hear Instagram account to share some news about her upcoming album. 1) It won’t “come on time” and 2) It will have a new title.
Lana Del Rey released a new single, ‘Henry, Come On Over’, a couple days ago and in Insta Reels, made mention that her 13-song new album (once called ‘Lasso’ and ‘The Right Person Will Stay’ up until yesterday) was being released on May 21.
Near the end of the Reel, Del Rey said, “You know it’s not gonna come on time, right? Should I even tell you that the name changed again? Maybe I’ll wait.”
She also said you’ll hear a new single, ‘Blue Bird’, sometime next week.
The ‘West Coast’ singer said the new LP ventures into country music and that regular collaborator Jack Antonoff and country musician Luke Laird were involved.
When Lana Del Rey spoke with NME (above) last May, she suggested that the lyrics on the new album might be lighter than her more recent output. “I’ve maybe less to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on ‘Tunnel’ or ‘Blue Bannisters’ or ‘Chemtrailer Over The Country Club’, and just more melodic. Maybe more American Songbook style?”
I’ve always dug Lana Del Rey’s stuff – you gotta be in a mood for it (or, at least I do) – but cool to see we’ll get some new music next month!
