Jane’s Addiciton Classic Lineup Plays First Concert Together In 14 Years

May 25, 2024

This hasn’t happened for well over a decade! Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro rejoined his bandmates this past Thursday night (May 23) during an intimate concert at London, England’s Bush Hall!

The videos below show Jane’s Addiction’s first performance with its classic lineup in over 14 years!

The setlist for this show included a new song called “Imminent Redemption”. Navarro, singer Perry Farrell, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery also played another new track, “True Love”. They opened with “Kettle Whistle”.

Navarro didn’t tour with Jane’s Addiction for their 2022 and 2023 show because of his fight with long COVID. Former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer replaced Navarro – Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen step in for the ’22 dates.

In the fall of ’22, Farrell told the Alternative Press that it wasn’t easy finding a temporary replacement for Navarro. “At first, there was a lot of weight on my shoulders. This was our return tour right after COVID, and we didn’t have Dave. Jane’s is a unique band, and you can’t just grab any guitar player and they’ll pick it up. That’s Dave Navarro we’re talking about — those are big shoes to fill.”

When it was announced that Van Leeuwen would fill in for Navarro, Dave said, “He is a great guy and I am honored to have him help make this tour happen. Though I am saddened to not make this tour, I am focused on making a full recovery and rejoining the guys when I am able. I truly wish the band well on this tour and I am confident they will bring everything to make it a fabulous show! Go get ’em, guys!”

Good to see the classic lineup back together – now, is it too much to ask for a new album?
