You’re scrolling TikTok when James Franco suddenly appears on your screen, looking straight into the camera and insisting something strange is happening.

The actor has launched a new TikTok account and posted a series of cryptic videos claiming there’s “some serious stuff” and “crazy stuff going on,” but he hasn’t explained exactly what he means.
Franco, once one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars thanks to films like Spider-Man, Pineapple Express, 127 Hours, and The Disaster Artist, has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years following sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced in 2018. A lawsuit filed in 2021 was settled out of court. Franco denied the allegations at the time and later discussed them publicly.
In his first TikTok video, Franco appears wearing a blue shirt with the name “Bruce Robinson” on it and immediately tries to prove he’s really himself.
“Hey guys, this is James Franco. Me, really James Franco. I’m here at my house. I’m not promoting anything, OK? … some serious shit’s going on.”
He then writes his username, @jamesfranco2319, on a piece of paper and doubles down on the mystery.
“I know, I maybe seem crazy, like, why, what’s going on, what’s the gimmick? No, this is real. Real. OK, I can’t say too much right now.”

As of June 12, Franco had posted seven videos, all featuring the same shirt and the same vague warnings about something unusual happening.
One of the most-viewed clips is titled 2319, matching the number in his username. The video, which mostly shows Franco staring into the camera, has generated more than 10 million views.
Viewers have also noticed something Franco didn’t mention. Despite claiming he’s not promoting anything, the only two accounts he follows are tied to his upcoming film Love Meets In The Sunshine: the movie’s account and director Christian Guiton’s account.
His latest video continues the theme.
“I’m not making it up though, I’m not making this up.”

The reaction online has ranged from concern to scepticism, with many fans wondering whether the videos are building toward a reveal connected to the new film.
Is James Franco documenting something real, or is this all part of a bigger plan yet to be revealed?
