Johnny Knoxville has flipped the switch. Again. Jackass is officially back.
Knoxville jumped on social media to confirm the new Jackass movie will hit theatres this summer, marking the franchise’s return after 2022’s Jackass Forever.
The original chaos machine launched on MTV in 2000, built on Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera and a rotating crew of fearless idiots voluntarily throwing themselves into pain for the greater good of laughter. What started as late-night TV insanity became a full-blown theatrical franchise, spawning four films beginning in 2002.
Now, there’s a fifth.
“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang,” Knoxville wrote. “We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!!”
He confirmed the release date as June 26, adding that the announcement was being made early so fans could hear it directly from the source.

While Knoxville’s post left room for speculation, Variety has since confirmed the project is Jackass 5, set for release via Paramount Pictures. The official title remains under wraps, and no cast list has been confirmed yet.
One name almost certainly missing is Bam Margera. He was cut from Jackass Forever after reportedly violating his contract due to substance abuse issues, and later stated he has no interest in returning to the franchise.
The announcement also lands with some weight behind it. In 2022, Knoxville suggested he was stepping back from large-scale stunts after suffering a brain haemorrhage during filming. He sustained multiple severe injuries after being launched into the air by a bull.
Okay. So you have the date, Knoxville’s grin and likely the familiar warning that this will probably hurt!
