You don’t ease into a new KoRn song. It grabs you by the collar and pulls you in. That’s exactly how ‘Reward The Scars’ feels. “Go!” and suddenly you’re back inside the machine!
KoRn return with their first new music in four years, a track forged for the expansion of Diablo IV titled Lord Of Hatred, arriving April 28!
Produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who’s been working with them since The Serenity Of Suffering, the verses stalk forward with tension:
“Hey you, won’t you come around, I drop down…
Hey you, looking underground, I confound.”
The chorus opens up, but it doesn’t soften.
“Help me free the ones I saved…
Break me, take me all the way soul betrayed (Go!).”
This marks the first new material since 2022’s Requiem, their 14th studio album.
Back in February, guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch made it clear where the band’s head is at:
“We’re focusing right now on our live show… It feels like we don’t even need a new album. Everything’s just going so well.”
“We’re going to meet together and see where we’re at… There could be a couple of surprises this year.”
Welch had already hinted the next full-length is in motion, just not on a clock:
“We’re very happy with what we got… but it’s just gonna take a while… maybe next summer, maybe next year… but it’s not gonna be soon.”
In the meantime, KoRn play Sick New World in Las Vegas to kick off 2026, followed by South American dates, then a long-awaited return to the UK and Europe this autumn. It’s their first run there in over a decade, wrapping with a major headline at The O2 in London on November 4.
So now you’ve heard ‘Reward The Scars’, do you think it’s a one-off… or the first crack in the door to something bigger?
