I guess that’s what happens when you change several key things from the original.
Unlike the 1937 classic, Disney’s Snow White remake has a more political focus, they changed the background of the seven dwarves, and altered aspects of the plot. Like, why? And now, IMDb (Internet Movie Database) users say it’s the worst movie ever.
Ever. And that’s saying A LOT. There’s some straight trash out there.
Snow White currently sits at a dismal 1.6 out of ten rating on IMDb.
90% of those who voted, over 180,000, gave it a 1/10 rating. A little over 5,000 users (or 2.5 per cent) gave it the full 10/10 rating. The weighted score based on just under 200,000 votes is 1.6 (lower than 2000’s Battlefield Earth (2/10) and 2019 musical Cats (2.8/10).
You gotta think that much of the poor reviews stem from the controversy surrounding star Rachel Zegler. The plot changes, political focus and changing the bacground of the dwarves probably didn’t do much for the cause.
Snow White has a 42% over at Rotten Tomatoes, and debuted to $42.2million at the US box office last weekend. The movie cost $240-270M to create.

Snow White’s opening weekend was lower than 2019’s Dumbo – which, as you know, was a huge bomb.
It’s said that Disney hired a ‘social media guru’ to vet Zegler’s posts after making derogatory remarks about U.S. President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile Zegler’s co-star Gal Gadot (the evil queen) shrugged off the backlash she received for pro-Israel comments, saying ‘My conscience is clean’.
Haven’t seen the remake, so I can’t speak to how shitty Snow White is – and I’ll likely never see it. So I’ll never know. What’s the worst movie of all-time?
