Heart’s Ann Wilson Finds Her Voice And Tells Her Story

Heart co-founder Ann Wilson is finally pulling back the curtain! She just released the first teaser for her upcoming feature documentary, In My Voice. It’s a quick 40-second glimpse. You can see it below!

As you’d expect, The doc is told in Ann’s words. Her “extraordinary 75-year journey”, as the synopsis calls it, stretches from a nomadic childhood to selling out arenas around the globe, and into a new creative chapter. Family, friends, fellow musicians, and industry heavyweights also weigh in, but at the core is Wilson herself.

“This film is my story in my own words, told the way I’ve always wanted to tell it,” Wilson says. “It’s about finding my voice, keeping it alive, and sharing the journey with the people who’ve been part of it all along.”

In My Voice dives deep into her personal archive: home movies, journals, never-before-seen footage, giving fans an intimate look at how she found, honed, and sustained that voice across five decades of fame, adversity, and reinvention.

The documentary is directed by Barbara Hall, a Primetime Emmy nominee with a knack for telling “remarkable human stories and music.” Hall recently received the 2025 Women In Film/Nashville Alice Award Trailblazer Award and says, “What an honour to tell the story of one of our greatest rock music voices of all time. Her story exceeds a scriptwriter’s imagination.”

Of course, this comes after a turbulent year. In July 2024, Heart canceled its tour so Wilson could undergo preventative chemotherapy following a cancer diagnosis. By September, she told fans treatments were complete and that she was gearing up to tour in 2025.

Heart has sold more than 35 million records, landed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013, and delivered a catalog of smash hits: Barracuda, Crazy On You, Magic Man.

The current Heart lineup features Ann and Nancy Wilson alongside Ryan Wariner, Ryan Waters, Paul Moak, Tony Lucido, and Sean Lane.

In My Voice release details and exclusive content are expected soon.
