Hear Oasis’ Unheard ‘Up In The Sky’ from ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th Anniversary Reissue

July 16, 2024

Oasis‘ 30th Anniversary edition of ‘Definitely Maybe’ is out next month, August 30. And to get you ready, the brothers have released a previously unheard version of ‘Up In The Sky’!

You can pre-order the album here.

As you’d expect, the LP is coming out in all formats and has recordings from the abandoned original session at Monnow Valley Studios, and some outtakes from the recording session at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall.

This unheard version of ‘Up In The Sky’ is a staple in Oasis’ discography and has been interpreted as the band taking the piss outta people who place themselves on a pedestal, or need to make political gestures. You’ll love this – the band scrapped this original recording because they thought it was too polished. No kidding.

Noel Gallagher has remixed the original recording and in the press release, it’s described as “offering a fascinating insight into the juxtaposition the band could have found themselves in at the time”, and showcasing “the recording process that led to the finished article of ‘Definitely Maybe’”.

If Oasis isn’t the band you’d most like to see get back together, which band is?
