Green Day Announces ‘Saviors’ Album

October 26, 2023

Green Day – Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool – are back with “The American Dream Is Killing Me”, the first single from their 14th studio album, “Saviors”, due out January 19, 2024 via Reprise/Warner!

If you were lucky enough to be in Las Vegas last weekend, you could have seen the band debut “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Look Ma, No Brains!” at their sold-out surprise show at the 800-capacity Fremont and at the back-to-back headlining performances at When We Were Young festival!

You’ll be able to pick up exclusive vinyl versions of “Saviors” (neon pink with neon green splatter, and black ice with hot pink splatter).

Interestingly, “The American Dream Is Killing Me” was one of the last tracks the band wrote for the new album. Armstrong said, “As soon we cut it, we said, ‘Okay, that’s going first.”” Adding that he describes the song as “a look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people — in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people.”

The band recorded “Saviors” in London and Los Angeles, with Grammy-winning producer Rob Cavallo (who also worked on the band’s iconic albums, 1994’s “Dookie” and 2004’s “American Idiot”).

Green Day play tonight, October 26, as part of Amazon Music Live’s concert series, and on November 19, they headline the Grey Cup Halftime Show for the 110th Grey Cup at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario.

Seems there’s no slowing them down.

Where do you place Green Day in the top Punk bands of all-time? Top 20? Top 10?
