Sure, we know Wednesday was a smash hit for Netflix. Wonder how Uncle Fester will do, stepping into the spotlight?

Do you think Fred Armisen will be able to deliver? He stole scenes as Wednesday’s kooky uncle in season one and just confirmed that a spin-off about his character is officially in the works. He was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and dropped the news.
“Yeah, we’re working on it. It’s fantastic… it’s amazing.”
And he gave Tim Burton some love, calling him “great, great, great.”
No details yet on storylines or cast. It’s all pretty early. Bloomberg first reported back in late 2023 that Netflix was toying with a Fester-focused series, with Amazon MGM Studios (who own the Addams Family rights) on board. At that time, no script even existed.
Showrunner Alfred Gough also admitted this summer that spin-offs were “something we’re definitely noodling,” saying there are plenty of Addams characters to explore. Netflix exec Bela Bajaria echoed the same thing: “There’s a lot to explore in the Addams Family.” Translation: don’t expect the spooky well to dry up anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Wednesday season two just wrapped, with a third season already locked in. Lady Gaga popped in as Rosaline Rotwood for part two, dropping a Burton-directed video for her new track “The Dead Dance,” but online fans wished she had more screen time.
Looks like Wednesday keeps expanding its universe. Armisen’s Uncle Fester is next up.
Will you you watch a Fester spin-off, or should Netflix focus on keeping to original series?
