Finger Eleven is back and getting things ready for their first new studio album in a decade! Last Night On Earth arrives November 7 via Better Noise Music and the lead-single features Filter singer Richard Patrick!
You’ve already heard Adrenaline and now get ready for Blue Sky Mystery!
“We forgot we had so many friends in America,” guitarist Rick Jackett said, reflecting on their 2023 tour with Creed. “People were just smiling the whole time — it was contagious.”
They took that energy and transferred it to the recording studio.
Singer Scott Anderson says Blue Sky Mystery has a heavy Sabbath vibe in the chorus, “The more it’s in front of you, the less you understand it… You can’t get your mind around it, or away from it.”
Fun fact: the working title for the song was 10 Ton Saber. Guitarist James Black pictured “some guy in Star Wars with an enormous, bazooka-sized lightsaber.”
Filter singer Richard Patrick, meanwhile, said collaborating was seamless, “Filter s celebrating 30 years, and we’ve never had the chance to work with Finger Eleven before. This was a lot of fun.”
Rick Jackett says it’s the band going full circle, “We had done that early in our career, and then veered away from it. But it was time to embrace that bigness of sound. Even the soft songs sound big.”
Finger Eleven is easily one of Canada’s best rock bands. Multi-platinum sales, Juno wins, and a list of hits that still light up rock radio: One Thing, Paralyzer, Living in a Dream… to scratch the surface.
And this fall, Finger Eleven is set to tour with Alien Ant Farm and BRKN LOVE… and then a huge Canadian tour with Headstones and Tea Party!
