Ex Guns N’ Roses manager confirms ’80s Sunset Strip TV Series

August 17, 2024

Former Guns N’ Roses manager Vicky Hamilton was recently interviewed by Loudwire and confirmed that she’s working on a new series about the ‘80s Hollywood sunset strip!

Hamilton not only worked with Gn’R in the 80s, but Mötley Crüe, Styrper, Poison and Faster Pussycat, too.

Hamilton helped Gn’R early in their career, booking shows before they released ‘Appetite For Destruction’ and helped them get signed with Geffen Records.

She released her 2016 autobiography Appetite for Dysfunction: A Cautionary Tale, and a ’93 painting of singer Axl Rose just before ending her time working with the band.

Now, Hamilton is working on that TV series about the ‘80s sunset strip!

“I think once I started writing the book, I kind of got a sense of why that happened, so that I would write this book. And this is the first time I’m really saying this out loud — I’ve done a deal with a production company, and it’s going to get made into a TV series.”

Hamilton said the TV series is in its early stage and an “insanely creative writer that has written many hit TV shows” is going to work on it.

She added, “I kind of see it like a Daisy Jones & The Six, but like an ’80s version of that. I don’t know if legally they’ll be able to work out to use the real band names, but who knows?”

The TV series will be more about the Hollywood scene and not necessarily Gn’R specific.

If they were to make a TV series about another time in music, which era should they do?
