This looks cool. Darth Maul is stepping back into the shadows and straight onto Disney+ this April!
The animated spin-off Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord just dropped its first teaser.
And it’s dark.
First unleashed in The Phantom Menace (1999), Maul’s legacy has burned through The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Solo.
Announced at Star Wars Celebration as the next major animated project from Lucasfilm Animation, the series comes from Dave Filoni and Athena Portillo. Premiere date: April 6. Launch format: Two-episode drop, followed by weekly episodes through May 4.
The story lands between The Clone Wars and Rebels. On the crime-soaked world of Janix, Maul rebuilds his syndicate and collides with a broken Jedi Padawan: a potential apprentice forged by anger, loss, and revenge.
“We have all been made to suffer,” Maul says in the teaser. Cold line. Cold world. Cold intent.
Sam Witwer returns as Maul, with Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoade, Dennis Haysbert, Steve Blum and a stacked cast filling out the galaxy.
This isn’t redemption. This is power, obsession, and empire-building in the dark.
Maul isn’t coming back. He never left.
Who else is fired up about this spin-off?!
