Clear vinyl, lost sessions, and a new mix: Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here turns 50 in style.

Fifty years after its release, Wish You Were Here, is still considered one of Pink Floyd’s crown jewels.

And now, the band is giving you a reason to revisit  the album with the 50th anniversary edition. It arrives December 12 as a deluxe box set, with multiple formats and a treasure chest of unreleased songs!

The reissue promises “an exciting new perspective” on Floyd’s 1975 classic. There are six unheard alternate versions and demos, plus a whopping 25 bonus tracks, nine studio rarities and 16 live cuts taped by legendary bootlegger Mike Millard at the LA Sports Arena in ’75. The live audio has been restored and remastered by Steven Wilson, while James Guthrie handles a fresh Dolby Atmos mix for the digital edition.

The Blu-ray goes even further, loading in three tour films from ’75 and a Storm Thorgerson short. Meanwhile, the 3LP and 2CD editions include the original album plus rarities. And the deluxe box set? It bundles all the above with an exclusive clear-vinyl 3LP, an extra live LP from Wembley ’74, a replica Japanese 7-inch, a hardcover photo book, a comic-style tour programme, and a Knebworth poster.

Earlier this year, Pink Floyd grabbed their seventh UK Number One with Pink Floyd At Pompeii – MCMLXXII. Wish You Were Here 50 looks to bottle a different kind of lightning. 50 years on and Floyd keeps finding ways to remain relevant. Impressive stuff!
