Woah, that’s a big guy to be assaulting you! Busta Rhymes has been charged with assault after allegedly punching someone in the face in New York City.
And get this! Busta turned himself in at a police station in Brooklyn (so that’s saying something) and has since been charged with misdemeanour assault, attempted assault and harassment!
Rhymes – real name Trevor Smith Jr. – is now due in criminal court on February 3. The New York Police Department says the case is “ongoing”.
According to New York state law, a misdemeanour assault means a person intentionally inflicts physical injury, “recklessly causes physical injury” or “causes physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument”.
The incident is said to have occurred on January 10, with a 50-year-old man being punched in the face multiple times by Busta in Brooklyn’s Dumbo neighbourhood.
Talk about yin and the yang, as Busta Rhymes was recently awarded with the Global Icon Awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Hey, you take the good with the bad. You take them both and there you have… something about The Facts Of Life.
Busta’s been keeping busy – and appeared on the new album ‘THE FORCE’ by LL Cool J last year, alongside with Eminem, Snoop Dogg & Nas.
All kidding aside, we all lose it and knee-jerk reactions can get the better of us. Hope it’s nothing too serious for Busta Rhymes. Dude’s a legend.
