This is huge. Literally. Bruce Springsteen is releasing seven never-heard-before full ablums on ‘Tracks II: The Lost Albums’!
You’ll be able to grab the collection as of June 27 – you can pre-order here.
There are 83 songs (huge), and according to a press release, they’re said to “fill in rich chapters of Springsteen’s expansive career timeline — while offering invaluable insight into his life and work as an artist.”
Springsteen said, “’The Lost Albums’ were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released. I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.”
“The ability to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to go into a wide variety of different musical directions.”
The collection arrives via “limited-edition nine LP, seven CD and digital formats — including distinctive packaging for each previously-unreleased record, with a 100-page cloth-bound, hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen himself.”

Meanwhile, beyond this massive collection of new music we’ve never heard – Springsteen, along with Flea, Karen O, Michael Stipe, Johnny Depp and more led an all-star jam with Patti Smith at her tribute concert In New York. NME did a great write-up about the show here.
Pretty cool. Which artists/bands do you wish would release music ‘from the vault’? Never-before-heard?
