Flowers revealed that The Killers’ eighth studio album is currently pencilled in for a 2027 release, arriving after he completes both solo projects and their accompanying tours.

“My best guess is that in 2027 you will get the best Killers record,” he said, referencing the long-awaited follow-up to 2021’s Pressure Machine.

Flowers also confirmed that both solo albums are already finished. “I have two records complete. One is almost mixed. The other will follow shortly,” he explained. “I’m trying to decide how this is going to work logistically. I had a ball making them in Nashville. It’s a departure for sure. Gotta keep you all on your toes.”

Both solo albums, Flowers confirmed, will arrive before the next Killers record. “I’m thrilled about both of them,” he said, “but I’m thrilled about the next Killers record.”

Addressing the lengthy gap between Killers studio albums, Flowers pointed to an intense touring and anniversary schedule. “In 2022 we finally took Imploding The Mirage on the road. It was immense and we did 90-plus gigs,” he said. “In 2023 we did 65 more gigs. There was a pent-up demand for that communal experience after Covid.”

He added that 2024 was consumed by the band’s 20th anniversary celebrations, including their Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace and the release of Rebel Diamonds. “The production and time that went into it all wiped out 2024,” he said, adding that 2025 has now been wrapped up.

With that in mind, Flowers expects the two solo albums to arrive in 2026, while The Killers continue writing intermittently.

As for what fans can expect from the next Killers album, Flowers remains focused on quality above all else. Asked whether it would resemble their 2022 single Boy, he was clear. “No, that was that,” he said. “We will not put it out unless it is the best. It’s gotta be so good or it’s not worth it.”

Where does he find the time? TWO solo albums and a new Killers record in the next year or so? Damn. Bring. It. On!
