Black Stone Cherry Drop a Soul-Loaded, Road-Tested EP

Black Stone Cherry is releasing their new EP Celebrate on March 6, 2026 through Mascot Records! The video for the title track is already out. Actor and musician Aaron Paulsen stars in the clip.

“The song itself is about celebrating every little thing in life, even if it’s just making it through the day.”

The EP was produced by Black Stone Cherry and recorded at High Street Studios in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s six new originals and a cover of Simple Minds’ “Don’t You Forget About Me” with guest vocals from Theory of a Deadman’s Tyler Connolly!

As I told you in another BLS story earlier this month, “Neon Eyes” started as a soundcheck riff captured on an iPhone, then morphed into a full-throttle party track. Its video follows the band through a typical day on the road and into their electric headline set at the 2025 Maid of Stone festival in the UK. Backstage moments, fan interactions, and a high-voltage finale show the raw power that defines Black Stone Cherry. The band calls “Neon Eyes” a classic BSC banger.

Black Stone Cherry has always been able to flip heavy subject matter into empowering rock. Chris Robertson says the EP feels like a snapshot of everything they have lived since Screamin’ At The Sky. The writing sessions were open and collaborative, with riffs, beats and ideas coming from every corner of the band. Ben Wells recalls Steve Jewell Jr. switching from bass to guitar on several tracks and says they often walked into the studio without a song and left hours later with a full demo.

Celebrate is full of contrasts. “I’m Fine” leans into woozy, Nirvana-tinged grunge. “Deep,” a mid-tempo heartbreaker, carried extra emotional weight as Ben and his wife suffered a miscarriage during the writing process. He channeled the experience into the song only two days later. The EP closes with their muscular, soulful take on “Don’t You Forget About Me,” a track Chris Robertson says he has always loved.
