Billie Eilish Teams with James Cameron for 3D Concert Film

Billie Eilish just released the trailer for her Hit Me Hard & Soft tour concert film, directed by James Cameron.

The 3D spectacle, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, hits theatres on March 20, following the final show of Billie’s tour in San Francisco.

As you’ll see, the trailer opens with Eilish peering out a window at fans camping outside venues. She taps the glass, and screams erupt in delight. Interspersed with jaw-dropping concert footage, Cameron appears to declare: “No-one’s shot a concert film on this scale before. We’re using tech that’s never been used before.”

Later, Eilish tearfully reflects on performing her first shows without her brother and collaborator, Finneas.

“This has been one of my favorite tours everrrrrr,” Eilish wrote on Instagram. “Being able to capture it and co-direct this film with @jamescameronofficial has truly been a dream come true. Can’t wait for you all to see it.”

This project was first teased during a Manchester show, where Eilish revealed the 3D collaboration with the Avatar filmmaker, joking about the cameras and Cameron’s presence in the crowd.

The tour has been headline-making for more than just the music. Maybe you caught Eilish calling out Elon Musk for not supporting global charitable causes? And then Billie went ahead and pledged $11.5 million from her tour to charities addressing food equity and the climate crisis.

Fans also made news protecting her: a Miami concert attendee who tried to drag Eilish into the crowd was evicted, while another fan who intervened was rewarded with merchandise and tickets.

Which artist/band do you wish would make a concert film?
