Bad Bunny lands the biggest gig of his career: Super Bowl Halftime Show 2026

You wanted AC/DC or Metallica. But looks like Bad Bunny is officially taking over the world’s biggest stage. The Puerto Rican superstar has been confirmed as the headliner for the 2026 NFL Super Bowl Halftime Show (February 8 in San Francisco).

Bad Bunny dropped the news on his socials yesterday (Sept.29), with Benito perched on top of a goal post.

As you know, last year’s Halftime Show made history: Kendrick Lamar became the first solo rapper to headline and pulled in record-breaking numbers. Now, all eyes are on Bad Bunny to follow it up.

Jay-Z, who oversees the league’s music strategy through Roc Nation, had high praise: “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.”

Bad Bunny dedicated the moment to his culture, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

The news comes fresh off his historic Puerto Rico residency, which ran all summer and wrapped Sept. 20 with a live-streamed finale featuring Marc Anthony, Arcángel, Ñengo Flow, De La Ghetto, and more.

Personally, I think with Jay-Z running the league’s music strategy, you won’t see a rock band performing Super Bowl’s half-time show. Will it keep me from watching the show? No. Will the internet get engulfed in trash talking Bad Bunny? Yes. Let’s keep an open mind and see what he comes up with.
